SRI's Mission

"To work with, as well as for, hospitals and various other healthcare providers by serving as a single-source of expertise for all reimbursement related issues, with the twin goals of ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contracts, while determining and recovering the full and maximum reimbursement to which the provider is legitimately entitled."

SRI's Overview

STRATEGIC REIMBURSEMENT, INCORPORATED (SRI) is a financial and third party consulting firm specializing in ensuring compliance while maximizing reimbursement and cash flow for its healthcare clients across the country. Headquartered in Elmhurst, IL, the firm also maintains offices in Denver, Milwaukee, Nashville, Phoenix and St. Louis.

SRI was founded in 1975 to assist hospitals in preparing their annual Medicare Cost Reports and with any subsequent audits and/or appeals. Over the years, the firm has grown in size and in the scope of services offered. SRI began consulting on DSH adjustments in 1990, managed care reimbursement in 1995 and MEdicare Bad Debt Logs in 2004.

Recognizing the importance of a "team approach" in determining full and correct reimbursement, Strategic Reimbursement was founded under the concept of "working with, as well as for," the provider. Its purpose is to allow the provider to retain, as part of its management team, a single source of expertise in the development of a strong financial third party program.

As a rule, SRI has chosen to hire only the most experienced and talented employees. Today, SRI employs over 25 full-time management and consulting professionals who have, on average, over 20 years of healthcare reimbursement experience. This philosophy has allowed us to provide a level of service and expertise unmatched by other accounting and/or consulting firms.

SRI's nationwide client base currently consists of approximately 280 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospices and both proprietary and not-for-profit chain organizations. The hospitals range in size from under 25 beds to over 900 beds with many having their own in-house third party staff and/or department.

In 2001, the shareholders of SRI consummated a sale of all company stock to the employees of SRI, transforming the company into an ESOP (employee stock ownership plan). Now, all of the employees of SRI can share in the firm's future success.
