ROBERT C. GIENKO, PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER
Mr. Gienko is President and founder of Strategic Reimbursement, Inc., a national Medicare, third party and financial consulting firm.
Mr. Gienko's 37 years of health care experience was developed through his employment with Blue Cross Health Care Services Corporation, Chicago, Illinois and, for the last 30 years, as President of Strategic Reimbursement. In his capacity as President, Mr. Gienko has built Strategic Reimbursement into one of the largest third party and financial consulting firms with approximately 200 health care clients across the county. In addition to Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and CHAMPUS reimbursement expertise, Mr. Gienko has directed the expansion of his firms services to include:
- Medicare, Medicaid and other third party Cost Report preparation/review services
- Prior year Medicare Cost Report compliance and recoupment reviews
- Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) analysis and verification
- Intermediary negotiation and Provider Reimbursement Review

Over the years, Strategic Reimbursement has developed a national reputation of being one of the premiere third party firms in the country. They have assisted and collaborated with numerous accounting firms, large and small, along with major law firms on a wide range of projects. In addition, Mr. Gienko and/or his staff have worked closely with all the Medicare Intermediaries across the country as well as CMS and OIG. They have participated in numerous provider appeal situations locally and in national class action situations. They have deep expertise in the preparation of appeal position papers and have provided testimony on numerous occasions to the Provider Reimbursement Review Board.
Professional Credentials
Mr. Gienko received a B.S. in Management and an M.B.A., both from Northern Illinois University. He is currently a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association, American Association of Health Care Consultants, and the Illinois Hospital Association.
