VIRGINIA WATERSTRAAT, VICE PRESIDENT

Professional Responsibility:

Ms. Waterstraat has overall responsibility for SRI's DSH Division, Bad Debts Division and Clinical Services Division. As such, she is responsible for the completion of client engagements, identification of new business opportunities, and effectively communicating with client management. Under her tenure, SRI has successfully recovered over $125 million in additional DSH reimbursement. In addition, she has overseen numerous clinical service engagements, including full CDM audits for a large national non-profit hospital chain. Ms. Waterstraat currently has 6 individuals reporting directly to her. She continues to be routinely involved in new product development and special projects.

Background and Experience:

Ms. Waterstraat joined Strategic Reimbursement in 1987. Her duties include:

Ms. Waterstraat has over 35 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining SRI, Ms. Waterstraat was reimbursement manager of a 450-bed hospital wherein she was responsible for all third party accounting, analyses of contractual allowances, case mix management reporting, and analysis of managed care bids. In addition, she performed a variety of cost accounting studies and special analyses addressing profitability, return on investments and cash flow projects. Ms. Waterstraat has also worked as budget manager of a 560-bed medical center wherein she supervised the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets working with department heads and top management.

Professional Credentials:

Ms. Waterstraat earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of the East and Masters of Science in Accounting from Roosevelt University. She is Certified Public Accountant and a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association.
